Icebug is a Swedish company that specialises in top class shoes and boots aimed at a wide range of markets. I recently got a chance to review a pair of their ACCELERITAS4 RB9X and I really liked them.

The ACCELERITAS4 RB9X runners are aimed at thrill seeking runners who plan on running on and off trail. They have a heel drop of 4mm which should help you avoid some running related injuries. The upper materials are made of Ripstop nylon / ProtecPU™ to minimise the amount of water retained in the shoes. The ACCELERITAS4 RB9X are extremely light, I run in a UK 9.5 and they weighed in at just over 200 grams. The ACCELERITAS4 come with Icebugs latest technology RB9X® it’s a rubber compound that outgrips other brand shoes allowing for additional reliability on wet and slippery conditions.

Over the last few weeks I have used the Icebug ACCELERITAS4 RB9X on several occasions and they have not let me down. They are very much designed for trail or other forms of off road running and not for running on tarmac. The ACCELERITAS4 RB9X are a very stylish pair of trail runners that come with really nice bug branding and in a lovely colour Sapphire/Poison. I found them to be extremely light, comfortable and a great fit.  I tested the Icebug ACCELERITAS4 RB9X on a variety of services including park runs, forest trails and off trails. On the rainy days you will notice how good these runners really are. The grip from the RB9X sets them apart from any others I have used in the past allowing you to run across rocks and tree stumps without any fear of losing your footing.

I would highly recommend these runners for people who are looking for comfortable, well-constructed runners with great grip and are looking to get into serious on or off trail running.
