New Balance Zante

Having not run in New Balance runners I did not know what to expect from the new Fresh Foam Zante, but after many months and hundreds of miles of running in them they are very quickly becoming my go to runner for long and short distance running including the typical long slow run and a mix of speed sessions.

The Zante is very light at 7.7 oz, has a heal drop of 6mm, No-Sew material application and a Moulded sock liner.  Despite the shoe being light it’s extremely comfortable, the foam provides the runner with just the right level of cushioning to allow for a very enjoyable run no matter what the terrain or distance.  I found the Zante to be a bit tight around the arch of the foot at first but it loosened out over time. I used the Zante on many occasions while training for my most recent marathon on tarmac, park run and trail from 5km to 22 mile runs and they have never let me down.  I found the Zante to be a very breathable pair of running shoes.

In my opinion where the Zante excels is on shorter distances, I have seen massive improvements in my 5km and 10km times over the last few months. I have really enjoyed using them Zante for Fartlek and tempo runs, the main reason being you know that even though they are light they have all the support you need so you feel more comfortable to push yourself that bit further.

The Zante comes in a variety of colours and can be purchased from most good running stores at a very competitive price compared to other similar models on the market. Without any hesitation I would recommend the Fresh Foam Zante for anyone looking for a light comfortable runner that will help you achieve your goals.
