Osprey Shuttle 130

Osprey has a reputation for producing exceptional backpacks aimed at the hiking, backpacking and adventure travel industries . The company also makes a wide variety of luggage and accessories, over the last few weeks I have been reviewing one of the Osprey Shuttle 130 Cases and I have been very impressed with it.

The case is pretty big with a 130 litre capacity so big enough for the longest of journeys. The bag has two internal zip pockets allowing for you to separate out your items, allowing for quick and easy access when required and perfect for holding your footwear and toiletries. The main compartment  has a mesh pocket the full length of the bag  that can be used to store a variety of items including maps and travel books. The bag has two internal compression straps that comes in extremely useful for keeping all your items safe and secure.

Externally the Shuttle 130 has three handles one either side of the bag and one on top that are very sturdy and large enough to grip with both hands if required. The bag has a retractable handle with ErgoGrip™ that is very strong making it easy to pull the heaviest loads behind you. The three external compression straps are great for securing the bag and its contents. The Osprey Shuttle 130  HighRoad™ chassis and its two large wheels makes it possible for the bag to be pulled across the most uneven of terrain. The bag has two large zipped pockets one on top and the other on bottom both accessible from the outside. Both of which are very handy for holding wet gear when combined with a dry sack like the Ultralight Drysack available from Osprey. The bag has a large deep zip pocket at the back of the bag with another small easy access external mesh pocket.

I have used this on a variety of journeys over the last few months including my most recent camping trip. This bag is extremely large with plenty of room for all my family needed for the long weekend trip. Our clothes were easily accessible so we could ‘live out of the bag’ and save space within our tent. I also used the Shuttle on a recent business trip to the States and found plenty of room to bring home all of the shopping my wife had insisted on! So much so she is planning on using it to go on a shopping trip herself this winter. This is a top quality travel bag and I would recommend it to anyone who like to travel with a large capacity bag.
