Having just branched into Triathlon and investing in my new bike the Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra disc road bike, I decided to focus on increasing my comfort of the bike when out with the club for a spin or taking part in sportif events around Ireland. Having decided that the TGALE TT is the saddle for me when competing in Triathlon events I thought it made sense to stick with the Prologo brand but this time try out the Dimension Tirox. I have used this now on few occasions and I have been very impressed with the upgrade from my previous road saddle.
The Prologo Dimension saddle is 245mm x 143mm and is one of the latest stubby saddles to be released onto the market. I have explained this before in my review of the TGALLE TT but CPC – Connect Power Control (Air Cooling, Grip and Position, Vibration and Shock Absorption) is a patented technology developed by Prologo and is positioned cleverly in a variety of points in the saddle to help absorb vibrations and shocks while on the road. CPC also helps by wicking heat and sweat away from the saddle adding to your comfort. The Prologo Dimension has Tirox Rails is created with a light but very strong alloy allowing you to feel safe and secure while in the saddle. Included also in this saddle is PAS technology (perineal area system) this is something the Prologo team have thoroughly tested in house. PAS system scientifically eliminates the contact among the saddle and the rider’s genital area improving comfort and ensuring at the same time the general well-being. PAS is produced with premium materials which to provide long term durability.
I have used quiet a few road saddles in the past but the Prologo Dimension is one of the best. Comfort is very important in a saddle especially when out on longer rides, I found the saddle to be pretty firm with enough padding to ensure a comfortable ride whether you are sitting upright or down in the drops. The cut out on the saddle is in my opinion positioned right where it should be and this assists in the reduction of the chance of pressure points. The saddle is pretty light at 179g
The Prologo Dimension looks great and as I have come to expect from Prologo is exceptionally well made. It comes in two versions the Tirox and the Nack which is quiet a lot more expensive both saddles come in two colours Black and White, both look very impressive, mine is black. This is a really good saddle for road cycling or sportif but would also be a good option for triathlon events and I have no problem recommending it.
