Wahoo Tickr

Since purchasing my Garmin Fenix 3 last November I have been looking for a top quality heart rate monitor that can be used with the Garmin and my HTC M8S smart phone. I came across the Wahoo Tickr Run in December and have been using it regularly ever since.

The Wahoo Tickr uses your heart rate to provide you with the statistics you need to get the most out of your workout.  To do this it uses ANT+ and the latest Bluetooth 4.0 technology allowing you to configure it to work with all the major brands of GPS watches, Apple and android mobile devices. The Wahoo Tickr Run works great with a variety of apps including Wahoo Fitness, My Fitness Pal, Map My Run and Strava etc. In conjunction with the Wahoo Fitness the Wahoo Tickr run provides you with a wide range of training details the wahoo Tickr Run comes with a comfortable and adjustable strap it is sweat and waterproof.

The Wahoo Tickr Run is extremely easy to setup I had it paired with my Garmin Fenix 3 and HTC M8S using Wahoo Fitness app within a few minutes.  On the front of the HRM you will see two LEDs, one on the left the other on the right, they blink during connection to let you know the straps is actively communicating.

The Wahoo Tickr run and Wahoo Tickr X have some added functionality, vibration motor, this allows you to configure your app to trigger specified vibration alerts like prompting you when with each mile you have completed.  The vibration functionality also detects taps and touches this allows you to start and pause your workout, start and lap workout, start and pause music and start and skip music this can be very useful on your long runs. The Wahoo Tickr Run is not limited to outdoor running and can be used in doors on a treadmill, Indoor and outdoor cycling. Once setup correctly the strap on the Wahoo Tickr Run is extremely comfortable with no fear of chafing even on your long runs.

The Wahoo Tickr is not just a top quality HRM, it’s also an extremely good overall fitness tracker when combined with the Wahoo fitness app. The level of details recorded on your runs is amazing including GPS Pace, Run Cadence, Ground contact Time, GPS Elevation and calories burned. When it comes to Run Cadence 180-200 is the magic number for all runners this application allows you focus on statistics like this to improve your efficiency as a runner.

I recommend this product to anybody looking for a comfortable reliable heart rate monitor that can be used in conjunction with products using ANT + and Bluetooth technology
