CES Sport is a Welsh company that was launched by Joe Emms in 2016. Joe is a keen cyclist and triathlete who loves his bike and like all other cyclists and triathletes, is always looking to improve and progress in the sport. Joe started to look for affordable hand-built carbon wheels but found this to be a huge struggle and rather than compromise on quality or pay a large cost for a carbon wheelset, Joe set about creating CES Sport a company that prides itself on creating a high performing wheelset that is affordable but does not compromise on the quality, reliability and overall visual appearance. CES Sport has achieved and exceeded this. They have expanded the wheelsets and tick all the boxes, so if you are a budding cyclist or an experienced Triathlete, CES Sport have you covered. I have had the pleasure over the last few months of reviewing a set of RC 50 Disc brake wheels and have had a really good time doing so.
As you are all well aware by now I live on the east coast of Ireland in a small coastal town called Rush. We are blessed with some amazing routes to test this wheelset. You can’t travel far from my door without hitting some nice steep hills and as you would expect from being on the coast we can also get some really windy weather conditions but neither of these has been an issue for CES RC50 wheelset. In the past when using bigger wheelsets I found it hard to keep the front wheel straight but even in the windiest condition, I felt in full control of my bike.
The CES RC50 really comes into its own once you breach the 30kmp. The acceleration is so impressive, especially on the flats and once you reach the higher speeds you can hold them without too much effort because you always feel safe, secure and one hundred percent in control despite the weather conditions rain, wind or sunshine RC50s will not let you down. It’s been a strange couple of years with many events being canceled due to Covid but I did manage to use the CES RC50 at my local Skerries Sprint Triathlon. This event takes place right on the coast and consists of two loops. It was an event I really struggled with this year; fitness levels were really poor due to a variety of reasons and the weather conditions were terrible. I was however very happy with the bike leg, most exciting for me was all the comments and envious attention that was paid to the wheelset with many fellow Triathletes asking me for more details on the CES Brand. CES have a very impressive list of British Athletes using their products including Jodie Stimpson and Tara Grosvenor and this is a real testimony to their quality of them.

How did the wheels perform overall 10/10 CES are producing a top-quality product at a very low price range, these are exceptionally well made, they look great, and are very fast and with top quality customer service they tick all the boxes in my opinion. I could not recommend them more. I have tested many wheelsets over the last few years and these are at the very top of my list.
