The Xlab Stealth Pocket 400XP builds on the companies expertise in the field of nutrition and storage The Stealth Pocket 400XP is the latest in the line of nutrition related products I have used this regularly over the last few months and have been very impressed with all aspects of it.

XLAB is a family owned and run company based in San Diego California. Setup in 1993 the company has 25 years experience design and innovation focused on one athletes reaching their targets by increasing their aerodynamic efficiency. They have a wide range of products but they really excel when it comes to hydration and nutrition and with experience designing for leading companies such as Boeing, racing yachts and most impressively in my opinion Lockhead they know a thing or two about assessing the needs of a customer and developing top quality products. .

Since branching into cycling and triathlon I have been looking for a top quality product for storing my nutrition while on the bike. Certain  boxes needed to be ticked in my opinion when designing this product.  It needed to be easily accessible, It would need to have storage capacity for multiple gels or other food sources of your choice,  a pocket for salt tablets and pain killers is also very important. A product that can be easily fitted , adjusted and secure on your bike last thing you need is for it to fall off and you to loose all your fuel in the middle of a race. All these boxes have well and truly been ticked and the  Xlab Stealth Pocket 400XP is a very good product.

The Xlab Stealth Pocket 400XP is extremely easy to fit by attaching and tightening three velcro straps to the top tube of the bike the base of the pocket has a non slip coating  making sure it stays in position and not move around.  It’s got four elasticated pockets, two on each side perfect for electrolyte tabs,  salt and pain killers. The main compartment has one very easily accessible zip it can hold multiple gels or a variety of other food sources  breakfast bars,biscuits jellies etc. It has structured inserts that allows the Stealth pocket hold its shape and retain its aerodynamic shape.

Having used this a lot of late I have been very impressed. It was very easy to setup yet always feels very secure . I tend to used food rather than gels to refuel, home made energy balls sandwich cut into small chunks etc yet like to keep a gel with me in case of emergency this has plenty room for all of them. I always cycle with one bottle of plain water and another bottle with electrolytes, and because I tend to sweat quiet a bit I like to have Salt caps with me the elasticated pockets on the sides are perfect for storing them. The Xlab Stealth Pocket 400XP is positioned at the from of your bike allowing you to stay down on your aero position on the bike so no more need to reach to your jersey pocket for your nutrition. The  Xlab Stealth Pocket comes in a variety of sizes to suit a variety of bike shapes. This is a very good product and is a must for any cyclist.
